Family Nurturing Center Announces 5K Registration Now Open
Blue Ribbon 5K Race ‘Racing to End Child Abuse’
Cincinnati, OH – February 5, 2013 –Family Nurturing Center has announced that registration is now open for the 4th annual Blue Ribbon 5K Race, set to take place on Saturday, April 20. And, while participants can register at the event, they are encouraged to pre-register online to guarantee race participant t-shirt. Pre-registration is $25, while race day registration is $35.
The 5K race and walk will begin at General Cable , 4 Tesseneer Drive in Highland Heights, KY and winds through the Northern Kentucky University campus. Race directors say the course is intermediate in nature, and will be chip timed with awards for top runners, walkers and strollers, and by age group. Children under 12 accompanied by a paying adult are free to participate.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., the stretching and weight pump session at 9:30 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 10 a.m.
The event is part of the Blue Ribbon Campaign designed to help bring awareness to April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and help raise funds to prevent and confront all forms of child abuse and neglect in the region. Race organizers are also seeking volunteers, and corporate sponsors for the event, encouraging all businesses and brands that relate to children to get involved.
