The Burlington Community Supports its Family

Burlington, Kentucky
– September 9, 2011

On September 16th
at 7:00 p.m., Zumba® fanatics will once again be dancing for a good cause in
Burlington, KY at a Silent Auction & Zumba® Dance
Party to benefit a local family. The event will be held at the RC Durr YMCA in

This benefit is for Sharon Karrick, who was diagnosed in
2010 with an aggressive form of ALS called Balbur.  Sharon is a wife, mother of two and a
grandmother of five who has lived in the Burlington area for over eleven years.  Sharon’s family is raising money for a new
wheelchair customized for ALS, a wheelchair ramp at her home, a new vehicle
equipped with a wheelchair lift, as well as modifications for her bathroom and
many other medical expenses that are associated with this aggressive disease.
Although the lives of Sharon and her family have been changed forever by ALS, they
are determined to keep a positive attitude and make the most of each moment
they have together.  The Karrick family
is incredibly grateful to their friends and family in Burlington who have
provided support and strength as they fight ALS.

Several Zumba®
instructors from Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati are donating their time to
lead participants in two hours of heart pumping Zumba® at the event and many
local individuals and businesses have donated gifts for the Silent Auction. Some
of the items available for auction include restaurant gift certificates, Coach
Handbags, oil changes, various themed baskets and much more. Tickets are $20 at
the door which includes an event t-shirt for the first 100 people.  For those who do not wish to participate in
the Zumba® dancing, admission for the silent auction is free.  Tickets may be purchased on the day of the
event at the door.
