Gospel stage play launches tour at Aronoff on Oct. 14 and 15
Cincinnati, OH — May 25, 2011 — Tickets went on sale this week for Ericka Nicole Malone’s “In Love with Tyrone”, a gospel stage play about a woman’s struggle to redefine herself following her husband’s betrayal. Malone’s tenth stage play will debut at the Aronoff Center for the Arts on Oct. 14 and 15 before touring the rest of the Midwest. Tickets are available through the Cincinnati Arts Association to the performance that will run at Procter & Gamble Hall.
“The cast has been working harder than ever to deliver an unforgettable performance,” Malone said. “This is my best work to date and audiences are sure to be pleased by the moving plotline and humorous characters.”
Asking “What happens when the right woman falls in love with the wrong man?”, the play focuses on Danetta, a driven attorney who realizes her husband is having an affair. Beginning with pain and denial and ending with redemption and renewal, she discovers an inner strength that will help her endure all. Malone serves as the playwright, producer and director and also penned the soundtrack which includes “Praise,” “No Turning Back,” “Gold or Plastic” and “What R U Waitin’ 4.” Malone’s former works include “I Feel Like Praising Him” and “You Can’t Keep a Good Woman Down.”
“There are no limitations for how far ‘In Love with Tyrone’ may go,” Malone said. “Only a woman can tell the story of another woman and that will be what draws attention nationwide.”
