The Nation’s Leading Funeral Supplier Addresses Generational Differences in Funeral Industry
Aurora Casket Company presents 11 areas of conflict to Utah Funeral Directors Association

Aurora, IN — April 27, 2011 — The nation’s leading supplier of funeral service products and services, Aurora Casket Company, presented “Four Generations in the Funeral Home” at the Utah Funeral Directors Association (UFDA) convention on April 13. Utilizing a consultative approach to address internal generational differences, Aurora’s Senior Professional Development Trainer Lacy Robinson, CFSP expounded on the 11 points of conflict common to funeral service professionals and possibilities for resolving them. Robinson spoke to convention attendees about the values and strengths characteristic of each generation to engage employees and reinforce their commitment.

“I think the fact that we have a group spanning the generations to have that message is important,” said UFDA Vice President Brandon Burningham, CFSP, CPC. “Looking at my company, we have everyone from all-knowing funeral advisors to those that supplement. There is a difference from traditionalists to baby boomers to young funeral directors. The presentation was well-received and made those in attendance think about how they would approach people from different generations in various scenarios.”

Robinson’s presentation addressed the difference between business necessities and personal preference, making mentoring a constant and providing the appropriate feedback for employees’ performance.

“I could really appreciate what she was talking about based on family dynamics,” said Rob Larkin, Senior Vice President of Larkin Mortuary. “She was very talented and her presentation had some great takeaway points.”

Robinson is one of several Aurora team members available to deliver presentations related to funeral service business development as part of the company’s speakers bureau initiative.
