Playwright Ericka Nicole Malone Releases “In Love with Tyrone” Soundtrack

Songs echo play’s themes of betrayal and redemption

Cincinnati, OH — March 28, 2011 — Urban theatre playwright Ericka Nicole Malone announces the release of her soundtrack for “In Love with Tyrone,” ( a play about a husband’s betrayal and a wife’s renewal touring the Midwest this fall. Included on the soundtrack are “Praise,” “No Turning Back,” “Gold or Plastic” and “What R U Waitin’ 4.” Not only responsible for the script, Malone also penned the play’s soundtrack and serves as director and producer.

“Every woman has fallen for Tyrone, a man they cannot let go despite how much they need to. The play shows the process of picking up the pieces of a broken heart and finding redemption in a lighthearted, comedic way,” Malone said.

Malone’s tagline for the play, “What Happens When the Right Woman Falls in Love with the Wrong Man?” is echoed in the title track “What R U Waitin’ 4.” After Tyrone cheats on female lead Danetta, others urge her to move on. Similarly, “No Turning Back” represents the redemption and renewal she experiences through her struggles.

“Although the play is humorous, it addresses unhealthy relationships and what it means to respect yourself,” Malone said. “The issues I write about are personal yet universal and serve as the foundation for a powerful script.”

“In Love with Tyrone” will make a seven city tour throughout the Midwest this fall. Interested individuals can access information about the play and the soundtrack online at
