2010 Finstitute Summer Camp at the Newport Aquarium
WAVE Foundation hosts week long camps for youth
Newport, KY – June 30, 2010 – Summer can be a time for kids to relax and take a break from school. But, the WAVE Foundation suggests that parents make this summer a fun and learning experience by signing their children up for the2010 Finstitute Summer Camp at the Newport Aquarium. Finstitute campers, aged 7-12 years old, will participate in games, arts and crafts, Ohio River History with the Behringer-Crawford Museum, up-close animal encounters, Newport Aquarium behind-the-scenes tours, penguin encounters and a trip aboard Ride the Ducks Newport.
The first week of camp, July 5-9, will focus on sharks, while the second week, July 12-16 will be a week for children interested in becoming environment explorers. The third week, July 19-23, will concentrate on frogs and the final week, July 26-30, will be all things creepy, crawly, slippery and slimy. Camp will be in session Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $150 for Newport Aquarium annual pass holders and $190 dollars for non-pass holders.
“We are really looking forward to camp this summer. We know it will be beneficial for every child that attends and are sure they will walk away having learned interesting facts and stories that they can take back to school and share with their friends,” WAVE coordinator Jenny Yee Greber says.
